The Institute of Teaching and Learning (Pty) Ltd, is a registered private company that is dedicated to advancing chartered accountancy education in South Africa through partnership with aspiring chartered accountants and qualified chartered accountants directly involved in chartered accountancy education.
The Institute of Teaching and Learning (Pty) Ltd (ITL) was founded out of a mentor-mentee relationship between the Founding Director (Mr Sitembele James) and the Managing Director (Mr Chuma Njomeni). Both Sitembele & Chuma have a zest for excellence as academics & professionals and desire to make an impact on the entire value chain towards the CA(SA) designation, hence ITL’s offerings.
Because it is impossible to achieve everything on our own, we were joined by other excellent Team members who bring their unique experiences to the Team. We all desire to make an impact – ITL is about IMPACT!

Collaborating with universities, faculties, and departments to implement practical initiatives that enhance student support and success.

Organizing events tailored for chartered accountancy academics, professionals, trainee accountants, and students, creating opportunities for networking, learning, and professional development.

They generally join academia with amazing technical abilities and generally lack on such very important areas of academia as research and community engagement. Even though technically gifted, they are also not experts in teaching and learning and require development on such areas as assessment setting etc
